Jurassic World Evolution 3 is getting a free 1.5 update on Sept. 29 that adds custom Walkways, giving park managers a new way to bring guests closer to the animals. The attraction can run through aviaries, over lagoons, and alongside enclosures, with adjustable heights, straight or curved sections, and a first-person mode that lets players experience their parks from the guest’s perspective.
What Are Walkways in Jurassic World Evolution 3?
Walkways are a new attraction that lets guests explore custom routes through all the different parts of a park. Players can place an entrance, build the walkway and either connect it to an exit, loop it back to the entrance, or leave it standalone so guests can turn around themselves.
The system gives players more control over how guests experience their animals. Walkways can run alongside enclosures or pass above big lagoons, while the Obstructions setting lets players check whether dinosaurs can still move underneath elevated sections.
Walkways can also pass through aviaries. When one crosses an aviary barrier, a cage is automatically added around it to protect guests. The caged version can also be used outside an aviary, providing another cosmetic construction option.
How Can You Customize Walkways?
Players can adjust the height of entrances and walkway sections, making it easier to incorporate them into different park layouts. Straight and curved pieces can also be combined to create custom routes.
The system has practical uses, too. Alternative routes can help guests navigate a park and improve its transport rating, while entrances and exits can be customized to fit their surroundings.
Walkways and Semi-Aquatic Enclosures
Update 1.5 will fit particularly well with the semi-aquatic enclosure tools introduced for Jurassic World Evolution 3 as part of the recent Crocodilia Coast update. Frontier’s Park Managers’ Toolbox has highlighted ways to combine deep water, land, and other habitat features when building exhibits for species such as the Deinosuchus.
Walkways can provide another vantage point over these mixed environments, particularly when they cross lagoons or run alongside water-based habitats. This allows players to incorporate guest viewing into the enclosure’s design rather than treating paths as something separate from the exhibit. Lastly, walkways also include a first-person mode, letting players experience the routes from the guest’s perspective.
Together, the systems give park managers more control over how all prehistoric animals are displayed and how different zones are laid out and connected. The free 1.5 update will go live on Sept. 29 across all major platforms.
